PopOut is the unique, genuinely pocket-sized map which features our patented PopOut fold. It is this innovative design that allows our precise, easy to follow cartography to be right in your hand when you need it most. Moreover, the origami fold means you can do away with that awkward, oversized map, making it a compact and discreet reference tool that doesn´t shout ´tourist alert´! PopOut was founded in 1993. Having spotted a need to cure what he calls ´Map Stress Syndrome´ after watching numerous tourists around the City of Bath, England, battling with oversized maps, founder Derek Dacey recalled the invaluable miniature charts he used during his days as a commercial pilot. Aiming to bring this level of usability to the city map market, a small team of designers was recruited to realise what would soon become the PopOut. 1993 saw the release of the first ever PopOut Map Bath, which was sold in the gift and souvenir trade across the city. Hot on the heels of this initial success, a research trip to the USA culminated in a redesigned layout, combining strong photo images, high quality printing and laminated covers - standards which are still adhered to today. That research trip also saw the birth of the first US destinations covered in the PopOut range - Boston, NYC, Philadelphia and Washington DC. Launched in the new style in the US they enjoyed instant success in the gift and souvenir trade. Today, PopOut produces over 100 titles for major destinations and is loved by travellers the world over.

It all began with the idea that I wanted to offer recommendations for visitors discovering Valencia in terms of hospitality - in other words: where the best restaurants and bars can be found. I didnt want to write a travel guide about the history and sights of Valencia, reducing the information provided to shopping, night-life, the beach and the immediate surroundings of the city - all of which can be found in the many existing, more traditional guide books. Instead, I wanted to introduce and propose culinary destinations located on these well-trodden tourist routes, offering an opportunity to plan tours that would include them as way stops. In other words: it would be a synthesis of tourism and gastronomy for connoisseurs of good food and drink. And that is exactly what the first edition was. The recommendations given here are quite different to those found in traditional rating portals. They dont reflect the opinions of percentages of restaurant goers or commercial interests - instead, here you will find insider tips for the places locals would recommend to their friends. This second edition of 2016 has continued in the same vein - but now includes other useful information for tourists: things you should know, sights not to miss, where are the best spots on the beach and more. Also included are plenty of new recommendations and additional topics, like the scene quarter Ruzafa. This guide is additionally rounded off with plenty of useful information, like explanations of typical dishes, the translation of their names, opening times of places, bus lines, and eating habits of the Valencianos, the people of Valencia. In this edition, the technical possibilities of eBooks are utilised as much as possible: There are plenty of images, all addresses are linked with Google Maps and can be used for direct navigation, and I have also added information from the internet, like photos and videos, which are also linked here. Christian Roth, born in Berlin, is 55 years old and spends about half of the year in Hamburg, Germany and the other half in Valencia. His wife Marcela is a native Argentinian, who - just like Christian - really enjoys great food. Marcela is fluent in Spanish, which helped to open doors for the couple, allowed them to start a dialogue with locals and helped them to make friends with Valencianos, with whom - no surprises here - they go out for great food and drinks. This book is the result of a great love for the city of Valencia and its culinary offering.

Black Friday - the official opening of the Holiday Shopping Season - and Patrice Marcum is stuck in the middle of her local superstore with a crying infant, a near hysterical desire to just abandon the diapers and milk she desperately needs, and the snowstorm of the century dumping a half-foot of snow on the parking lot outside. She needs a miracle. The little old lady seemed sweet, but there was no way Patrice was going to leave three-month old Jeremy with a stranger. She looked outside at the snow-covered parking lot and saw yet another distressed shopper´s cart topple over in the drifts. The old lady sensed her distress and volunteered to call a store employee to help watch over Jeremy while Patrice got her car. The older gentleman, wearing a store badge with the name ´´Ron,” seemed too good to be true. What could be safer? Less than five minutes later, after brushing the snow off the van and driving across the crowded and snow-packed parking lot, Patrice pulls up in front of the store. Jeremy is not there. Pushing back panic, she rushes into the store and looks around. Jeremy is not inside either. She pushes through the line at Customer Service, the associate calls Ron on the intercom, and issues a Code Adam. When Ron appears and he´s only seventeen years old, Patrice realizes the worst. ´´Oh God! They´ve taken my baby!” Mary O´Reilly, Private Investigator, is decorating her office for the holiday season when the newly installed bell over her door jingles. She looks over to see a six year-old boy standing next to her desk. His name is Joey Marcum and he wants to hire Mary to find his baby brother. Mary nodded. ´´Okay, Joey, but I´ll want to work with the police on this one. Do you have any problems with that?´´ Joey paused. ´´No, I guess you can talk to them.´´ ´´That´ll be helpful.´´ ´´But you can´t tell my mom you´re working for me,´´ he said, ´´Promise?´´ ´´Yes, I promise.´´ Joey shrugged. ´´I don´... ungekürzt.
